Dr. Ortega joined Hematology Oncology Associates in July, 2011. It is Dr Ortega’s honor and privilege to serve his patients. His goal is always to provide state of the art care with warmth and compassion. Through detailed discussions of all treatment options, Dr Ortega enables his patients to participate in making informed decisions about their own care. Dr Ortega is also fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr Ortega and his wife have two young children.

Dr. Ortega completed a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida; prior to that, he served both his residency and his internship in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville.

Dr. Ortega is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Oncology, and the American Medical Association.
